RICK’S STORY

Rick Ellis is a BJJ blackbelt under legendary Professor Roy Dean and Director of Operations for Professor Dean’s Affiliate Network. Rick teaches at camps and seminars in the United States and abroad. He also runs the popular Art of Skill channel on YouTube and TheArtOfSkill.com, where some of the best instructors in the world share their knowledge. As an instructor, Professor Ellis focuses on the principles of efficiency, leverage, precision, and control, allowing his students to achieve more success and greater longevity in the sport.

Rick Ellis believes that good Jiu Jitsu is highly efficient and technically impeccable. As an older athlete, Rick can’t rely on his physical attributes for success, so he has built his game around the principles of efficiency, leverage, and control. In Rick’s view, effectiveness in Jiu Jitsu is a byproduct of technical mastery and the mastery of one’s own body. This approach is also the key to longevity in the art.
